Jesus was Blunt

Jesus was blunt: “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you let God do it.”

Mark 10:27 MSG

In this passage Jesus was talking to his disciples about entering into the Kingdom of God. Typically I read out of the NIV but when I stumbled across this scripture in the Message Bible all I could do was laugh because of how true it is!

Extra Limbs

Honestly, this could not be true enough! How frustrating is it trying to do it all by your lonesome self? It takes forever to complete the task with only two hand and two feet. Let me just tell you now, you sure will be wishing for extra limbs because it’s just impossible!

Let’s pause for a moment to read Philippians 4:13 NIV, “I can do all thing through Christ who strengthens me.”

Okay, now that we have that read this how do you think He strengthens us?

God strengthens us through faith. We each are given the same amount of faith.. It’s just how we use it.

The ‘thing’

Now why did I add in that second scripture? Good question there.. To answer this question I need your help.

Close your eyes and think about that ‘thing’ in your life that has caused you the most stress. The very ‘thing’ you have tried to control and take down at every level..

God is wanting you to gain some more faith muscle. This ‘thing’ in your life looks impossible, I know because I am facing some too.

If Jesus can be blunt, I would like to be blunt also. Get your hands off of the situation in your life. Your smudging it up! Allow God’s finger prints on it and watch what he can do.

In the mean time…

What are you supposed to do in the meantime? Be patient and ride it out. Trust me when I tell you that patience is my number one disked vocabulary word.

BUT…. as the scripture says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of faith produces perseverance.” James 1:1-3 NIV

My Question for YOU..

What are you trying to do all by yourself? Why won’t you allow God to take over this ‘thing’ and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way?
