Good Morning

Emptiness

I have served the Lord with all my heart for many years. I have listened and obeyed the Spirit of God. I felt strong with the Lord, but there was just something more I needed in  my heart and my life. With all of might and strength I tried to fill this gap with just about anything I thought was capable of filling this emptiness.

Not one thing worked. Nothing was big enough to fill in this gap.

It wasn’t until I read this book Benny Hinn wrote called Good Morning Holy Spirit.

The Borrowed Book

Years ago my dad allowed me to barrow this book  but I wasn’t mature enough to fully understand, so I gave it back. This past year I went and  asked my dad if I could barrow the book again. After lending it to me I reread it and boy, did it change my heart!

As I  read this book I began to look at my own relationship with the Holy Spirit. I mentioned earlier that I felt good about my journey with the Lord but something was missing. Yes, I knew that Holy Spirit is our teacher, comforter and can interpret our heart to the Father and Father’s heart to ours. But for some odd reason I couldn’t comprehend that there is more to the Holy Spirit than that. The Holy Spirit wanted to become my best friend.

What I Needed

Reading about Benny Hinn’s relationship with Holy Spirit was something I so longed for! I didn’t just want more of the Holy Spirit, but I NEEDED more of the Holy Spirit!

My eyes opened up to the fact that the emptiness I held in my heart was reserved for the Holy Spirit.

As time went on I began to seek the Holy Spirit. I would ask for help through prayer. Then something seemed to click in my spirit as I began to read this book. There was a section where Benny Hinn wrote about waking up in the morning and the first thing he would say was, “Good Morning Holy Spirit”.

I figured why not try starting my morning off speaking to Holy Spirit? As I began to do that things in my life began to shift.

I no longer wanted things of this world (Netflix included). I wanted to talk to Holy Spirit just like I would any other friend. I told him about my day and how I felt on certain situations. I would read the Word of God and Holy Spirit would reveal new things to me.

What Empty Gap?

Before I knew it what was an empty gap in my heart was no longer there. Instead it was filled full of the Holy Spirit. He didn’t force himself into that space in my heart but I allowed him to invade this space.

With wanting to turn this relationship stronger Holy Spirit has shown me and has drawn me closer to God. Through out the day I would talk to him and he would talk back to me.

Crazy right?!

What had happened to Benny Hinn was happening to me.

I couldn’t believe it!

I write all of this to encourage you to build your relationship with Holy Spirit. Talk to him as though he is your best friend. If you find it hard to pray ask the Spirit of God for some help. If you’re having a crummy day, talk to Holy Spirit and listen to what he has to say.

I promise you that as you begin to do this that void in your heart will become filled!

My Question for you…

What is holding you back from trying to create this relationship with Holy Spirit? Why not try it out for a month and see what happens?

I would love to read about your journey and how
