The Choice

For as long as I can remember, I have heard many testimonies from many people receiving Christ Jesus into their hearts. Each of the testimonies I hear from all over the world are intriguing, heart felt stories all centered and focused on the Lord.

 

Most stories go along the lines of hearing Bible stories and going to church here and there but never committing to anything. Then they would go through a rebellious time in their life consisting of some type of addiction or worldly outlook. Finally, God placed them in a position where their eyes would open to see who Jesus really is. Which leads them to the choice of choosing Jesus or to walk away from Jesus.

 

I always thought that those testimonies were so powerful and had to sound something like that to be considered a true testimony.

Then one day I was watching a YouTube video about this young man’s testimony. After sharing his testimony he encouraged his viewers that everyone has a testimony. That is when Holy Spirit came upon me and showed me my very own testimony.

 

My Outlined Testimony

• Yes, I have gone to church the majority of my of my life
• No, I did not accept Jesus Christ as my Lord at a church, but in an old pick-up truck on the side of a dirt road
• No, I have not fallen into any self harming addictions
• BUT, as a child when I chose Jesus and not this world I took this relationship to heart which only meant a nasty fight with the enemy

 

Unique & Special

They’re times in my life I wanted to give up on God. Fortunately, Holy Spirit would come into my thought life and show me where I would end up if I gave up my relationship with the God. He would also show me where I would end up if I keep on pushing through and drawing deeper and closer to God.

 

Holy Spirit spoke to me and showed me that my testimony is unique and special. Not many people can say that they have wholeheartedly served Jesus Christ from a young age. (Defiantly not saying that others are not unique and special)

 

Just as that young man encouraged me as I watched his video, I too want to encourage and remind you, yes, yes, I said YOU! My friend you have a special, one of a kind testimony. Do not be discouraged if it doesn’t sound like a “normal” testimony because there are no “normal” testimonies. Yes, they might be comparable, but each individual testimony has it’s own story to tell!
